March 15, 2007

Hola Muchachos,

It is Thursday once again, and I am once more a NEW person. Funny, isn't it? Weekends always draw you into another world. A world of RED, smoked cheese and crackers, and a bout of, this week was Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2, which is the only change in a rather dull, lonely and meaningless life. (except for a few very exciting moments which due to circumstances I choose not to have a lot of, and I rather not divulge right now. Tee Hee)
So, after 2 glasses of red, you, all of a sudden, tend to forget the whole week that breezed by, the pain, the hardships, getting up so early in the morning (not that I reckon I will do anything different on Friday morning, except if I assimilate a tablet of Nitrovet, otherwise, it will be a repeat of last week, or many weeks before that, a 6.30 flutter of eye lids, looking at the watch, and murmuring a desperate 'oh no', and eventually sauntering off from bed at 6.30), then getting ready for another day at work (on Friday getting ready to doing umpteen things, and only succeeding in boring yourselves to death and looking forward to a Sunday, that will take you around to the next cherished and eagerly awaited weekend).
Oh No! There I go again. Rambling, and rambling once more. Will you stop it! And concentrate on Chopin, and all that you aught to be doing and have not attempted so far. So, go ahead, and get going. What's stopping you, except, of course, yourself.
I told my friend Sal to take up Painting. He is in his 60's, and retired, and has practically very few friends. A hobby, or an inert talent is exactly what one should take up, and I do not mean you have to start when you are 60, on the contrary, my pretty latina has been doing such a great job, after constantly complaining of loneliness. (Not that I will divulge you the cure to her loneliness
J ), but taking up a hobby is such an unique way to fend away loneliness, and at the same time a great opportunity to discover yourself. Yes, that is what we need to do. Discover ourselves. That is perhaps the most important thing to life. And, this holy deed does not need for us to worry about petty things, and about things that is happening to other people and not to us. (When I was small, I wanted to be an Ice Cream Vendor, not I want to be a latino. I am sure you will ask me why? Well, the one’s that I know are so carefree and have such a subtle humor, you wonder whether if there is such a thing called attitude.
So, what is attitude?

The way we talk? Or the way we consider ourselves? No, attitude is everything. Even us getting up and going late to work, or looking at life in a positive or a negative manner.
Sometimes I ask a lot of questions, and people misunderstand and think that I am an atheist. But I am not, it is just that I believe that something did create us, but the story that has spread around all of us just does not jell.
Then, what is agnosticism? Or is there a word such as that.
Agnostics are those people that need an answer, a proper one, that they can rationalize. A logical and rational step taking events from day zero onto day x.

So, is Science the true answer? Well, evolution or survival of the fittest, makes sense, and having a chronological steps of events as they are theorized to have taken place, but again, the beginning of everything is the ONE BIG Question.
I understand the 'BIG BANG' theory. Great. Religion says that too. God pre-existed, and with a snap of his or her fingers, created the world in 7 or whatever days. The question is what was there before. I mean before God, etc (sorry if it sounds blasphemous, but that is not the intention of this article) . Well, Science uses that as well. Countless of floating matter or whatever, floating around in space all of a sudden, derived massive energy, and resulted in exploding or imploding, or whatever.

Again, the BIG question. How, and from where did all this floating debris evanescence? Questions, questions in abundance.
Well, more next time. Right now, I prefer to sip my Matheus, and listen to Chopin, and hope that the only message we can send outwards is PEACE and LOVE, or the other way around or in whatever sequence. Life is all about sharing, and sharing goes a long way, such as wealth, love, wisdom, etc. If each and everyone of us will do just a little bit each week, then this world will be a wonderful place to live in, no matter who was right. God or Science!

So, why does everything fell nicer when you have docked one glass of Matheus. And then, things appear even more cheerful, when you have assimilated the second glass, and then the third one????

Well, it has all got to do with the rhythm. And right now, I am living in a daze. It is Thursday evening, and I have all the time to do what I want. So, what am I doing concentrating on writing my blog? Tee Hee

3rd March, 2007

Hola Everyone,
Como Estes, and I hope everyone is muy bien.

I decided finally that I was turning into a portly, indolent and lazy slob. Even while sipping tea, with the fresh early morning March breeze wafting in from the Greens, and the chirping of nesting sparrows, I discovered I did not have any emotional feel towards Nature that I have always loved and cherished. I am more a Nature person than a Sea person. We have miles and miles of lovely beach with light golden sand sparkling against the meretricious warmth of a Sun reigning over an endless spate of blue sky, but I rather sit in a jungle somewhere in Ecuador or the Galapagos island and look at turtles and other creatures living naturally together. Yes, that’s gonna inspire me always, and perhaps I can start writing again. My lovely friend from Ecuador cannot believe that the only time I had visited the Beach in the last ten years was when we went together there as a group twice. Can you believe that? It is true. I am now the official chairman of the Recluse Party, and I wish that people should just let me be. Which of course does not happen all the time. People invite you out contemplating that this is a favor they are doing to you, and not a pain you know where.

Okay, I accept this fact. I am going nowhere. And my usual, choice, responsibility and consequences theory (that I gladly poached from my Boss, Osho and Anthony D’mello) can be literally thrown back at me. What is the use of you being the best if you are not there. Like, repeating a saying I heard recently, “you may be the best goal keeper in the world, but if you arrive late for the match, then it does not make a difference how good you are.” So let me do something different today.

Well, so I made the first move, and that is, the very first entry to my blog in 2007. I am not going to promise you either that I will be very consistent and punctual in my entries, however, I will try my best to be there.

Isn’t it so funny, I mean life that is? We are so worried about our weights, our looks and the fun that we purport to be missing, while all around us people are soaked to the skin and overwhelmed in poverty. It makes us wonder. What are the things we value most? And where does our priorities lie?

Prince Charles visited Dubai, and he and Camilla made certain that part of their visit here would be, a walk through Bastakiya. If you are in the UAE at this very moment, or elsewhere in the world, and contemplating visiting Dubai, then do not forget to mark these places in your diaries, the Bastakiya, Dubai Musuem, the Ski Slope at the Mall of the Emirates, and of course, last but not the least, the traffic on Shk Zayed road in the evening rush hour.

I finally taught my next door neighbor a calm lesson in ethics which I thought the neighbor rightfully deserved. He or she, I guess, is way too much lazier than me, and would keep garbage outside his/her apartment door during the night, instead of making the slight extra effort, and walking the additional 100 feet to the garbage chute. So, I decided that every morning I would deposit my garbage by his door along with his garbage, instead of disposing it in the chute, so his doorway could become a garbage center for all of us. It worked. And, I hope that he has learn a lesson, at least for a short while, to make me happy that I did something erstwhile for Society this week. Tee hee.

I wonder if anyone is actually reading my blog, although I get around 80-100 hits every day. It is not a lot, but it tells me that there are many people out there who are trying to reach out, perhaps not superficially but in their own subtle ways, trying to garner knowledge, and quietly make friends. I do not read a lot of blogs, but I do ensure I read a few every week. It makes me know the other person, and his or her feelings and emotions, and I remain a silent partner in their dreams. I wonder, how many silent partners I have?

Well, until next time folks. Whatever you are doing or contemplating to do, just do it well.
