September 1st, 2006

Hiya friends and fellow bloggers. I am not going to fill in pages and pages of what’s and why’s of my abrupt and unexpected disappearance, and of course the ‘all of the sudden’ re-emergence with zest and vigor. I am merely going to act as if this void never really existed and begin afresh. So, here goes:

I’ll begin with a very catchy slogan run by Emirates Airlines. I love beguiling and captivating slogans. They add so much imagination and depth to thinking, and wonder.
Emirates Airlines: When was the last time you did something for the first time.
Carlton: If you smoke, then try Carlton.
Avis: We rent cars.
Seiko: Someday all watches will be made this way.
If anyone would like to contribute to this ‘slogan’ fiesta, then please be my guest and I will post it ….when….ever???
But, I really do love Emirates Airlines ‘slogan’. Can we all sit down and ask ourselves this question? Actually, isn’t this what life is all about?
Life is indeed both monotonous and boring. Only when we can bring about such changes, will it have an effect on us, and we start to live again. Do you remember what I once wrote, that;
Life is living in its fullest sense and finding out the real meaning to our spirituality. Existing is merely growing old.

I, like most of you all was born wanting to make a difference in the world. I have always felt that there had to have been a purpose, a rationale for my life. I just do not and did not believe in status quo. So, what does that mean in layman terms?
That, I have set very high expectations for myself, and then in return expect the same from others.
However, this is not panacea or a magic potion. This is life, practically. Here, things do not work the way you want to envisage and hope returns equals or are greater than investments. So, then. What should one do.
Give up!
Well, that is the easy way out.
Yet, if you are able to figure this one out, and are able to meet it head on, then probably life will embark on taking new meaning.
So . . . (my Boss Iqbal’s favorite word)
So. . .
It’s all about you.
When was the last time you did something for yourself?
How long you have been putting off that ONE THING you know you need to do?
Ask your self this question, and see where it does lead you.
Can’t help but think about how much little decisions can change our lives so quickly and for the better.

It feels like a lucky week. I am not sure, but somehow it does.
Perhaps it was because it is September, and I was able to sit outside in my balcony this morning, and sip my first cup of early morning tea for ages.
Perhaps it was the fly that kept bothering me and prompting me to open the French Window, and let it into my parlor for a subsequent and abrupt end to its miserable life.
Or perhaps, because I have taken on the arduous task to learn Spanish, and I should be attempting lesson number three very soon. I am already in the final stages of ‘estoy muy bien’ and ‘travieso’, and of course, ‘claro’ which also means ‘of course’. I need to figure out a few naughty words as well, for I have heard that this is the best way to begin learning a language, specially because Latinos are very, very sexy. And, by the way, they cry a lot.

Work wise we are contemplating a way that should ensure ‘people’ never to be sacked for their mistakes or errors (unless it is a case of fraud), but should only be sacked for their ‘attitude’ and behavior’. A good management tactic would be to reward good workmanship instead of punishing bad workmanship. What do you think?

Well, I will let this first echelon in my philosophy by way of blogging to end here, and hope to have some real interesting stuff the next time I venture this dark abyss of frustrating and wearisome desire to write once more.

Hasta La Proximita, wherever you are.
